Safety Policy Statements
As a company we are bound to meet with the statutory requirements laid down in the laws of regarding the health and safety all our employees. It is our intention that these demands should not only be met but exceeded. It is recognised that our people, plant and equipment are our greatest assets and that maximum protection as much as is possible should be afforded to them. It is of considerable importance to each and every one of the company’s employees as it contains company policy on standards and responsibilities, the arrangements for monitoring employee’s safety and for their participation in developing and maintaining a safe working environment.
It is our policy to create an accident free, safe working environment across the whole range of our activities. However it must be stressed that this policy can only be effective with the participation and commitment of all employees so that a high standard of safety could be maintained and thereby achieve a safety record that is second to none.
This statement is a representation of the committed approach of PMT CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERS (PVT) LTD to its Health and Safety policy. It is intended to complement and enlarges upon the general statement of Health and Safety Policy of the statement is for the attention of all employees, contractors and sub – contractors, working for, or contracted to PMT CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERS (PVT) LTD accordingly, all personnel should be reminded that in addition to their obligation under this policy and the Health and Safety at work etc. Act 1974 strict compliance with the client Safety Regulations, Standards and Emergency Procedures is an essential part of the conditions of their engagement.
Whilst formulating these statements, the company had the following objectives:
- To promote the health and safety of all our personnel involved in its operations, and for any member of the general public affected by its operations.
- To create an awareness of safety and safe working practices by all employees
- To set a high level of safety standards and performance for people, plant, services and equipment, and to ensure that in the performance of all services, that all reasonable care is taken to ensure the health and safety of all persons who may be affected by any work or services performed.
- To establish training needs and programmes.
- To prevent all accidents, but to ensure that where they do occur, adequate preventative action is taken to prevent their recurrence.
- To determine the health and safety levels at all levels.
- To ensure that all lines of communication and consultations are open to both management and workforce and that they remain effective.
- To ensure that the above is regularly monitored, (remove comma) through the safety review system in order for needs and trends to be analysed. Safety measures can then be performed and swift effective action taken as and where necessary.
The emphasis in any Safety Policy is on the need for participation and cooperation of all individuals at all levels. This emphasis cannot be overstated, as it provides the foundation upon which an effective policy can be built.
It is essential that all individuals are aware of and actively participate in the company’s arrangements for the control and supervision of their health and safety at work, and of the public, personal and company legal liabilities involved in non- conformance with the health and safety at work.
